Aeromedical Flight Teleconsultant Doctor

Location: Naoero Medical Centre, Republic of Nauru
Position Type: Full-Time / Rotational Contract

Naoero Medical Centre is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Aeromedical Flight Teleconsultant Doctor to provide remote medical support for aeromedical evacuations, in-flight medical emergencies, and patient transfer coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 telemedical support and clinical guidance for aeromedical retrievals and medical evacuations.
  • Assess patient fitness for air travel and determine medical requirements during transport.
  • Coordinate with flight nurses, paramedics, pilots, hospitals, and receiving facilities.
  • Support decision-making regarding patient stabilization, evacuation priorities, and transfer destinations.
  • Review medical records and prepare transfer recommendations.
  • Provide teleconsultation for in-flight medical emergencies and critical care transport cases.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation medicine and patient safety standards.
  • Participate in clinical governance, protocol development, and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) with valid medical registration.
  • Specialist qualification in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Anesthesiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of post-specialization clinical experience.
  • Experience in aeromedical retrieval, emergency medicine, intensive care, telemedicine, or flight medicine is highly desirable.
  • Certification in ACLS, ATLS, PALS, or equivalent emergency care programs preferred.
  • Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills in remote environments.
  • Knowledge of aviation medicine and patient transport physiology is an advantage.
