Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) – Stores will be responsible for the overall management and control of construction project stores, warehouses, materials, equipment, and inventory. The role will ensure timely availability of materials at project sites while maintaining accurate inventory records, minimizing losses and wastage, and ensuring compliance with company policies and project requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in construction stores and warehouse management, preferably with experience handling materials for large-scale building, infrastructure, MEP, or industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage overall stores and warehouse operations across construction projects.
  • Develop and implement effective inventory and material-control procedures.
  • Ensure timely receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, and issuance of construction materials.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure materials are available according to project requirements.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Projects, Planning, QS/Commercial, Finance, and Site Teams.
  • Review material requisitions, purchase orders, delivery documents, and goods-received notes.
  • Maintain accurate records of material receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and stock balances.
  • Establish appropriate minimum, maximum, and reorder stock levels.
  • Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies with system records.
  • Investigate and control material shortages, damages, wastage, and obsolete stock.
  • Ensure proper storage and preservation of materials in accordance with manufacturer and project requirements.
  • Manage inter-site material transfers and returns.
  • Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, excess, and surplus inventory.
  • Ensure proper segregation and identification of materials, including hazardous or sensitive materials where applicable.
