Molecular Genetics Technologist

- Dubai Science Park

Job description

We are urgently seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise to run prenatal and neonatal genetic tests and also to evaluate the genetic results.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Full experience in genetic routines (e.g., DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, electrophoresis, cloning, cell culture and transgenesis).
- Have experience in infertility genetic testing (PGD, PGS, NIPT).

- Mutation screening form NGS panel-based tests.

- Supervise and training lab technicians for routine genetic tests.
- Experience of working with sequencing machines (e.g., library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis).
- Review laboratory results of diagnostic genetic tests and validates them.
- Collaborate with other physicians, biologists and genetic counselors to determine the specific genetic tests that need to be performed on a patient.

Additional preferred technical skills
- Histopathology, cell culture, cell engineering, Y-chromosome deletion assays, fluoresce microscopy
Qualifications

- MSc or PhD in genetic or biomedical sciences
- Postgraduate studies in medical genetics including training in laboratory and clinical genetics.
- Experience in clinical genetics.
- Must have good computer and technology.
- Strong time management skills.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have superior problem solving and decision-making skills.

-Excellent critical thinking skills.

Salary and benefits

- 20,000-25,000 AED per month, depending to qualification

- Renewable visa, insurance, accommodation/transportation allowances and other yearly benefits

Ability to commute/relocate
- Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
