Job Summary
IIQAF Group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our hospital team in Dubai. The successful candidate will perform laboratory testing, collect and process patient specimens, operate laboratory equipment, maintain quality control standards, and support physicians and healthcare professionals by delivering accurate and timely diagnostic test results.
This role is ideal for professionals with experience in medical laboratory technology, clinical laboratory testing, pathology, microbiology, hematology, biochemistry, immunology, specimen collection, diagnostic laboratory services, and healthcare laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, receive, label, process, and prepare patient specimens including blood, urine, tissue, and other biological samples.
- Perform laboratory tests in hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunology, serology, coagulation, and urinalysis according to established procedures.
- Operate, calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and diagnostic equipment.
- Analyze laboratory samples accurately and report test results promptly.
- Maintain laboratory quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) procedures.
- Verify laboratory findings and immediately report abnormal or critical results to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, patient reports, and test documentation using Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards, infection control protocols, and hospital policies.
- Manage laboratory inventory, reagents, chemicals, and medical supplies.
- Follow proper specimen handling, storage, transportation, and disposal procedures.
- Participate in internal audits, proficiency testing, and laboratory accreditation activities.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information and laboratory data.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Stay updated on laboratory procedures, diagnostic technologies, and healthcare regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
- Valid professional license or eligibility for licensing as required by UAE healthcare regulations is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Lab Technician, Medical Laboratory Technician, Clinical Laboratory Technician, Laboratory Technologist, Medical Technologist, Pathology Technician, or Diagnostic Laboratory Technician is preferred.
- Experience in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, medical centers, or healthcare facilities is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of hematology, microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, pathology, and clinical laboratory procedures.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and laboratory quality management systems.
- Knowledge of infection prevention, biosafety protocols, and laboratory accreditation standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
