Biomedical Engineer, Hospital jobs in UAE

We are looking for a Biomedical Engineer with 2–3 years of practical experience in hospital projects, healthcare facility development, or as an in-house Biomedical Engineer within a hospital.

The successful candidates will support the planning, coordination, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of medical equipment and associated healthcare infrastructure. Candidates should have a good understanding of medical equipment requirements, medical gas systems, electrical requirements for medical equipment, and healthcare facility regulations/standards.

This position is particularly suitable for Biomedical Engineers who have worked closely with hospital engineering teams, MEP consultants, contractors, medical equipment suppliers, architects, and clinical users.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of medical equipment for hospital and healthcare projects.
• Review medical equipment layouts, equipment schedules, room data sheets, BOQs, specifications, and related project documentation.
• Identify and coordinate the electrical, mechanical, plumbing, medical gas, IT/data, drainage, ventilation, and other utility requirements of medical equipment.
• Coordinate medical equipment requirements with MEP, architectural, structural, ICT/ELV, and interior design teams.
• Review equipment electrical requirements including power supply, socket types, UPS requirements, dedicated circuits, earthing/grounding, and electrical safety requirements.
• Coordinate requirements for medical gas systems, including oxygen, medical air, vacuum and other relevant medical gases.
• Verify equipment locations, installation requirements, access requirements, service clearances, structural requirements, and site readiness before installation.
• Conduct site inspections and coordinate with contractors and consultants to resolve installation and interface issues.
• Support preparation and review of medical equipment BOQs, technical specifications, equipment schedules, compliance statements, and technical submittals.
• Coordinate with medical equipment manufacturers and suppliers regarding technical requirements, installation, commissioning, and training.
• Participate in equipment testing, commissioning, acceptance, snagging, and final handover.
• Maintain equipment documentation, commissioning records, warranties, manuals, certificates, and asset information.
• Support hospital engineering/maintenance activities where required.
• Ensure installations comply with applicable healthcare facility, electrical, medical gas, fire & life safety, and medical equipment safety requirements.
• Coordinate with clinical departments to understand workflow and equipment requirements for areas such as Operating Theatres, ICU, Emergency, Laboratory, Radiology, CSSD, Outpatient Clinics, and Patient Wards

Candidate Requirements

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience should preferably include one or more of the following:
• Hospital construction/fit-out projects
• Medical equipment planning and installation projects
• In-house Biomedical Engineering within a hospital
• Healthcare facility engineering
• Medical equipment supplier/distributor project implementation
• Required Technical Knowledge

Pay: AED4,500.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
