Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Accountant to support our Deputy Finance Manager with day-to-day accounting operations. As part of our Advanced Travel and Tourism team in Dubai, you'll work in an ONSITE environment, directly involved in daily accounting duties across various financial activities. The ideal candidate will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily accounting and bookkeeping activities.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Prepare and record journal entries.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Support in reporting expense reimbursements.
  • Prepare invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Assist with audits by providing required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting procedures, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned, including cash/cheque bank deposit & collections.
Must have requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in a UAE travel agency.
  • Familiarity with Tracs accounting software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting software.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Preferably male candidate.
Nice to have requirements
  • Additional certifications in accounting or finance.
  • Previous experience with travel industry-specific accounting systems.
  • Experience handling cash/cheque collections in a corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of VAT regulations applicable in the UAE.
  • Ability to speak additional languages relevant to the region.
